ILN Government
The Independent Lakota Nation (ILN) Government centers on Respectful Elders: those fluent Lakota speaking grandmothers and grandfathers of proven Lineal Descent. By virtue of their long life, vision, and preservation of the Lakota language, decision making power is theirs.
Lakota elder women of customary age are to be reestablished in leadership as the matriarchal grandmothers to oversee their community and to direct Lakota men and their societies in actions that further the independence and survival of Wolakota and a free and independent Lakota Oyate.
Respectful elders are to be reestablished as the number one decision makers within the Tetuan Oceti Sakowin including each of the nine districts of the Tetuwan Oglala Lakota Pine Ridge Reservation.
