Bilateral Relations & Diplomacy
Since time immemorial, the Lakota Oyate (Nation of People) have maintained relationships of friendship, economic-trade, and political treaty-making between our nation and others. We also hold one of the oldest ceremonies of making-relatives called the Huŋkápi.
In this spirit, the Independent Lakota Nation seeks to develop and advance friendship and bilateral, nation-to-nation relations with others within the International Community befitting our natural and internationally recognized rights to political freedom and self-determination.
We welcome the development of diplomatic relations, and the creation of mutually-beneficial political, economic and cultural relationships between our respective peoples.
